The Recruiter/HR Safety Coordinator reports to the General Manager and is responsible for maintaining a work force that has the ability and training to do their jobs and maintain records to support this. Duties include keeping the company software and systems current and up to date, as well as communicating with drivers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction of the General Manager duties will include:

Hiring Recruiting and Safety

Develop a driver advertising and recruitment campaign

Recruiting potential drivers

The Recruiter/HR Safety Manager reports to the General Manager and is responsible for maintaining a work force that has the ability and training to do their jobs and maintain records to support this. Duties include keeping the company software and systems current and up to date, as well as communicating with drivers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction of the General Manager duties will include:

Hiring Recruiting and Safety

Develop a driver advertising and recruitment campaign

Recruiting potential drivers

Screening of potential drivers

Training of new drivers which includes, onboarding, human resource policies

Complete all required safety audits which may include ISNetworld, COR and AVETTA

Monitor and maintain WCB claims                                 

Maintaining DOT compliant Driver Files

Implementing, monitoring and improving safety programs

Managing driver safety bonus pay

Liaise with dispatch and maintenance teams when addressing driver issues and work together to formalize resolutions

Work with problem drivers, HOS and safety violations and make sure that they are managed for improvement

Manage Drug Screening program for new hires and random testing as needed

Working with management to proactively reduce insurance claims

Assist payroll department in managing of company benefits plans

Reporting of accidents and coordinate claims management with insurance company

       Policies:

Developing and improving on company policies and procedures

Creating and maintaining HR/Safety systems that are used as a tool to help the company function in the most efficient and effective manner

Keep EXCELL sheets updated and or creating new EXCEL sheets for tracking information relevant to the recruiting/HR and Safety position

Knowledge of HOS and ELD’s.

Knowledge of DOT regulations and staying current with changes

                                                           

QUALIFICATIONS:            

College diploma/ University degree in logistics/ supply chain solutions an asset but not required depending on years of experience

A minimum of 4 years HR/Safety management experience

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

Strong working knowledge of MS Office software including Word, Excel and Outlook                                          

Attention to detail                                               

Knowledge of TMS (Truckmate)

Knowledge of HOS/ ELD’s/Samsara

Good problem solving and analytical skills                               

Excellent written and spoken communication skills

Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease driver turn-over, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide a quality management team.
